Privacy policy
Effective November 2, 2026
This policy covers the Cuoroom waitlist on cuoroom.com. Cuoroom Inc ("Cuoroom", "we") runs it. The Cuoroom app comes with its own privacy policy.
What we collect
When you join the waitlist, we keep:
- your email address;
- the school your email counts for, if any, which we read from the part after the @;
- the language of the page you signed up on, English or Spanish;
- when you signed up, when we sent your confirmation email, and when you confirmed it;
- where you came from, if you arrived through a link someone shared or another tagged link.
The link in your confirmation email carries a code that works for 7 days. We store only a hash of it, a fingerprint that can't be turned back into the code.
We don't ask for your name, phone number, birthday or location.
How we use it
- To keep your place on the list.
- To send you an email to confirm your address, and a new one if you sign up again before confirming.
- To count confirmed school emails toward the school race. The race shows only how many people from each school have confirmed, never emails or names.
- To email you at launch with how to get in and your code for the offer.
- To tell you when your school opens.
When a confirmed email is on a college domain we don't list yet, we look up that domain, never your address, in the US Department of Education's public College Scorecard, so we can add the school.
We only email you about Cuoroom.
Who handles it
We don't sell your information or share it for advertising. These companies handle it for us:
- Amazon Web Services: Amazon SES sends our emails.
- Cloudflare hosts this page, passes its requests on to our server, and runs Turnstile, the check that tells people from bots. To do that, Turnstile reads technical signals from your browser.
- Google Cloud runs our server and stores the list, in the United States.
We share it only with these providers, who handle it for Cuoroom, or when the law requires it. The school lookup above sends only the domain, never your email.
These providers keep hosting and security logs, such as IP addresses and browser details, for a limited time to keep their services secure. Google Cloud's request logs, for example, are kept for about 30 days.
No tracking
This page has no analytics and no ad trackers. It remembers whether you picked the light or dark look on your own device only, and that choice never reaches us.
Some browsers send a Do Not Track signal. This page doesn't track you, so there's nothing for it to change.
How long we keep it
We keep your place on the list until 6 months after Cuoroom launches, then delete it. Backups that still hold it expire within 7 days after that.
Seeing or removing your email
To see, correct or remove your email, write to info@cuoroom.com from that address, so we know it's yours. We remove it from the list within 30 days of your request. Backups that still hold it expire within 7 days after that. Removing it takes you off the list, so you won't get the launch email or the offer code.
Ages
The waitlist is for people 18 and older. If you're under 18, please don't sign up. If you think someone under 18 signed up, write to us and we'll remove their email.
Changes
If we change this policy, we'll post the new version on this page with a new effective date.
